We are proud to post the first astrophoto from a SkiesAway event. This vibrant image of the Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) was captured from our group campsite in Joshua Tree, using Bryan’s full astrophotography setup. Conditions were great all three nights so we just kept taking photos. During this time we helped our attendees get their telescopes and imaging equipment fully operational. Jarred also led a nightscape photography night hike and we will be sharing more photos and stories shortly. There is a less cropped version posted here with more of a description. This is a good opportunity to share Bryan Cogdell’s astrophoto gallery on Stellarscapes.net. Everyone had a great time out there and we look forward to the next one! Stay tuned as we add more events this fall.
